Location & Directions

River City Classic at the LRT

From Kansas City, take I-70 West to the first Lawrence exit (#204).  Turn left to head south until you go under a big railroad trestle, then turn left onto Locust.  Continue on Locust until 8th street, then turn right.  Cross over the Levee and into the parking area.  Parking attendants will direct you from there

Marathon - 3 hours

REGISTRATION:

  • Pre‐registration is encouraged at USA Cycling and is open until Friday, June 21st at 9:00pm (CDT).
  • Race day registration opens at 8:30am and closes 30 minutes prior to each race.
  • USAC license required for all riders.
  • One‐day licenses are available for $10 (Cat 2&3) or $25 (Cat 1).
  • Riders under 18 must have USAC Standard Release signed by parent or guardian.
  • Entry fee includes $4.00 for USAC insurance

Payouts Classes

  • Includes ‐ Masters Men Open (30+, 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+), Masters Women (50+), and Singlespeed Men’s Open & Women’s Open(8 classes total)
  • 50% of entry fees* X number of racers from the classes listed above divided by the total number of classes with athletes competing and finishing that race.
  • That dollar amount is paid out 3 places deep for each class
  • 1st place = 50%, 2nd place = 30%, 3rd place = 20% ‐ of available funds
  • Each class will have equal payouts.

Marathon Payouts

  • 50% of entry fee* X number of racers from Men’s and Women’s Marathon class divided by each class (2 classes).
  • This is paid out to the top 3 Men and Women.
  • 1st place = 50%, 2nd place = 30%, 3rd place = 20% ‐ of available funds
  • Each class will have equal payouts

Bolster Fund:

  • 25% of entry fee* X number of racers in “Payout Classes” (8 classes)

Pro/Cat 1 Men and Women's Open Payouts

  • 75% of entry fee* x number of racers from Pro/Cat 1 Men and Women’s Open class PLUS the Bolster Fund
  • This is paid out to the top 3 Men and Women.
  • 1st place = 50%, 2nd place = 30%, 3rd place = 20% ‐ of available funds
  • There will be equal payouts between the two classes.

 

Entry Fee*:

  • less $5.00 insurance and administrative fees

Race Rules & Information

  • Held under USAC Event Permit #2019‐1734

  • This event is subject to weather conditions! Please refer to the FB event page for

  • US DOT or CPSC approved helmets are required any time participants are on a bicycle.

  • Age groups will be combined as necessary to insure reasonable field sizes

  • No earbuds or headphones are allowed

  • No riding on course while events are taking place.

  • The promoter reserves the right to modify the course depending on current trail and weather conditions.

  • While in finishing lane, slow and/or stop to get scored

  • All competitors must complete the entire course, cutting of course will result in automatic disqualification.

  • 1 Lap equals 9 to 10 miles of fast hard‐packed singletrack with twisty, narrow sections
